Thierry Simon was born in Antibes, on the French Mediterranean Coast. He learned to sail on the Med when he was 11 and went to Britany to improve his sailing skills in a renowned sailing school.

Sailing quickly became a real passion and over the years, he participated in numerous international regattas both in Europe and North America.

Thierry studied yacht design in the USA and participated in the rebuilt of several classic wooden sailing vessels. In addition to his classic yacht background he also built an aluminium vessel using modern technics and materials.

Thierry has a MCA 200 ton Ocean Unlimited Captain License.

With several ocean crossings under his belt, he will gladly share his knowledge and experience in weather routing, celestial navigation or passage planning.

Thierry has both French and Canadian citizenships, is fluent in French and English, lived over 30 years in North America and therefore is comfortable with both the European and North American cultures.

In addition to sailing, he developed a passion for history, photography, gastronomy and wine. His knowledge in food and wine pairing will surprise you.
